IX.    TOP OPENING COMPARTMENT:
 
  A.    Compartment runs full length of body 4" deep.
  B.    Compartment tray is 9" wide on standard compartment and 14" on deep        compartment, with divider slots on 4" centers.
  C.    Release latch is located inside the horizontal compartment. Gas springs are used to hold        lid in open position.
 
X.     UNDER STRUCTURE:
 
  A.    Front and rear cross members - 7 ga. formed steel channel. Additional reinforcement is        incorporated in the front cross member at the universal mounting points to the chassis        frame.
  B.    Intermediate cross members - 10 ga. formed steel channel.
  C.    Longitudinal stiffeners - 14 ga. formed steel channel, (4) full-length reinforcements.
  D.    Floor - 12 ga. safety treadplate steel (1/8" safety treadplate steel on 54" floor).
 
XI.    COMPARTMENT CONSTRUCTION:
 
  A.    Front and rear end panels - 14 ga. A40 two-sided galvannealed steel.
  B.    Bottom panels - 14 ga. A40 two-sided galvannealed steel.
  C.    Top panel - 14 ga. A40 two-sided galvannealed steel.
  D.    Intermediate panels - 16 ga. A40 two-sided galvannealed steel.
  E.    Horizontal comp. bottom panel - 16 ga. A40 two-sided galvannealed steel.
  F.    Fender panel - 16 ga. A40 two-sided galvannealed steel with die formed wheel arch        section.
  G.    Back panel - 16 ga. A40 two-sided galvannealed steel.
  H.    Rubrail - 14 ga. A40 two-sided galvannealed steel. Outside edge of rubrail has 3/8" hem        for additional strength.
 
XII.   DOOR CONSTRUCTION:
 
  A.    Double panel construction of 20 ga. A40 two-sided galvannealed steel with high impact        polystyrene honeycomb stiffener. Lower interior cavity of doors treated with        automotive type rust preventative.
  B.    Latch - galvannealed rotary type paddle handle, two-stage safety catch, tamper proof        lock, fully weather proof sealed galvannealed housing, riveted to door for ease of        replacement.
  C.    Striker pin - #303 stainless steel pin, adjustable and arranged to lock inside primary seal.        Mounted on 10 ga. slotted mount for adjustments.
  D.    Hinge - full length 5/16" stainless steel concealed hinge pin with stainless steel hinge        blocks, and oilite bushings. One block welded with other block bolted for ease of door        replacement.
  E.    Door seal - full perimeter steel reinforced clip on seal with positive continuous contact        with door. Primary door seal is automotive type neoprene.
  F.    Horizontal door holder - heavy duty cable.
  G.    Vertical door holder - spring loaded adjustable door stay.
 
XIII.  TRAYS & SHELVES:
 
  A.    (4) front compartment and (1) horizontal compartment divider tray - standard. Trays        are 16 ga. galvanized steel, 2" lip front & rear with divider slots on 2" centers. Vertical        and horizontal compartment trays are adjustable via clips variable on 4" centers. Divider        trays with 3" lip are available for "H" model horizontal compartment.
  B.    (2) rear compartment shelves - standard. Shelves are 16 ga. galvanized steel, 1" lip        on one side with lip flanged opposite on other side so shelf can be installed with front lip        either up or down. Rear vertical compartment shelves are adjustable via clips variable on        4" centers.
 
XIV.   FRONT BULKHEAD:
 
  A.    14 ga. A40 two-sided galvannealed steel. Formed top rail with two die formed reinforcing        ribs. Floor drainage is designed into lower rib at floor level.
 
XV.    TAILGATE:
 
  A.    Double wall construction; 14 ga. A40 two-sided galvanneal steel inner panel, 16 ga. A40        two-sided galvanneal outer panel formed.
  B.    New rotary latch slam style, installed with 3/16" x 1" link arms support to hold tailgate in        horizontal position. Link arm assemblies are hot dip galvanized coated for maximum rust        protection.
 
XVI.   PAINT:
 
  A.    Entire body underside and door interiors covered with automotive type undercoating        meeting OSHA and NFDA specifications.
  B.    Pre-Paint Preparation
 
       1.  All product surfaces cleaned and conversion coated with high      pressure/high temp. power wash system (Fremont Industries      608PF) for maximum inter-coat adhesion and added rust and      corrosion protection.
       2.  All galvanneal surfaces where grinding is required (e.g. to dress      welds) and any nongalvanneal steel that does not get undercoat      protection (e.g. treadplate floor) receive a vinyl wash primer      coating (.5-1.0 mil. dry) for added rust and corrosion protection      and superior adhesion (Sherwin-Williams E2-G973).
  C.    Primer
 
       1.  Two component high solid white primer sealer (Sherwin-Williams      "Prime Shield" SCP041PA) cured with VIC amine generator      licensed through Sherwin-Williams, DFT 1.5 - 2 mils.
 
XVII.  LIGHTING KITS:
 
  A.    Standard light kit (XBL-1) for all bodies consisting of:
 
       2   Truck Lite Model 19 marker light
       2   Truck Lite Model 40 red stop, tail and turn, clear-back lamp with      black rubber mounting grommets
       2   Truck Lite Model 40 clear lens backup lamp with black rubber      mounting grommets
       4   Adhesive back 2" red reflector
       1   Complete wire harness with Chevrolet chassis connector
       1   Peterson PM346 license plate bracket with light
  B.    Standard light kit (XBL-2) for bodies over 80" wide consisting of:
 
       2   Model 19 yellow clearance light
       5   Model 30 red lamp with rubber grommet identification and clearance lights
       1   Cluster harness
  C.    Dodge wire harness adapter (XBL-3) for XBL-1 light kit
        Ford Super Duty (box removed) wire harness adapter for (XBL-6) XBL-1 light kit
        Ford Super Duty (cab/chassis) wire harness adapter (XBL-5) for XBL-1 light kit
        Chevy Silverado (box removal) wire harness adapter (XBL-7) for XBL-1 light kit
 
XVIII. BUMPER ASSEMBLIES:
 
  A.    Grip punch bumper, 12 ga. A40 two-sided galvannealed step-type bumper, raised        flanges in punched array of holes provide excellent non-slip surface. 10" step with 5"        riser furnished with "quick mount" installation brackets. Furnished as full step, recessed        for pintle hook or with recess and ball hitch plate.
  B.    Optional 12 ga. treadplate step type bumper, 10" step with 5" riser furnished with "quick        mount" installation brackets. Furnished as full step, recess for pintle hook or with recess        and ball hitch plate.
  C.    1/2" thick steel ball hitch plate with 1" diameter ball mounting hole. Plate furnished loose        or installed on recessed bumper. Maximum trailer weight 5,000 lbs., maximum trailer        tongue weight 500 lbs.
